Mystery Sleepover

There’s been a lot of great surprises and sequences throughout the P.O.I.N.T. Prep arc, and with the arc’s cartoons paired in sequence, you get a sense of an interesting story unfolding.  This is where it reaches its turning point coming right off of Enid declaring something weird is going on with the school.  That said, her time at P.O.I.N.T. Prep isn’t just about being suspicious.

She’s legitimately happy that she’s made amends with Elodie, while Elodie appears to have improved a lot after betraying her in their youth.  These feelings are highlighted in a simply adorable sequence of them reliving the old days by having a sleepover in their dorm.  The activities they do are fun to watch, though the story is still given edge with Enid still holding true to her suspicions about the school which Elodie doesn’t really get.  While getting a pizza delivery, she uses her ninja knowhow to uncover that the P.O.I.N.T. Prep deans are concerned over the capabilities of some of the students.  Despite this being her biggest red flag of all, Enid comes across her old friends K.O. and Rad as the guys delivering the pizza, and her excitement of seeing them is too cute to pass up.  That said, I must wonder if it’s appropriate for her to be this excited since she saw them both literally just one cartoon ago.

There’s still great fun at Enid and Elodie’s sleepover with K.O. and Rad in on the affair, but then that feel stops sharply.  K.O. expresses a great desire to enroll in P.O.I.N.T. Prep some day and study among all the elite heroes.  Elodie, however, sternly looks down on him saying that it will never happen.  Just as Enid is about to admonish her for apparently relapsing to her old ways, Elodie is suddenly called for an afterhours class for elite students.  All these events are enough for her, K.O., and Rad to finally do some investigating around the school.  There’s proof to their impeccable team dynamic as they face scanners who judge heroes based on how much of the three major disciplines they have.  Selling their dynamic is how they fail to get past it on their own, but make progress by combining their powers.

Then comes the moment to confirm Enid suspicions.  The gifted honor student program is actually a meeting by Chip Damage who forces them to be the best they can be by shooting them with glorbs.  This explains the strange power surges of Elodie and Sparco in the previous two cartoons.  It’s among one of the shadiest moments of the series and shows a major crack in how P.O.I.N.T. works.  To cap the reveal off is one last exciting sequence of K.O., Rad, and Enid getting busted and fighting to beat back the P.O.I.N.T guards while racing back to their dorm.

So, apparently K.O. and Rad are now here to stay by Enid’s side to help her face the darkness of P.O.I.N.T. meaning she won’t have to miss her old friends anymore.  There’s a mix of game changing reveals and cute bonds with this cartoon, and while it’s a lot of things at once, the results are still very positive.
